Record Breaking House of Cards

Bryan Berg has just broken his own Guinness World Record for building the largest free standing building out of packs of cards.

Bryan Berg (born 1975) is a professional "card stacker" who builds houses of cards on a very large scale.

He got a Degree in Architecture at University in 1997, and worked at the design faculty there for three years. In 2004, he earned his Master of Design Studies from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Bryan was an architect but went on to making houses of cards. He uses no glue, tape or method of holding them together other than gravity and friction.

He first broke the world record for World's Tallest House of Freestanding Playing Cards in 1992 at the age of 17, with a tower 4.67 meters tall. Since then, he has attempted to break his own Guinness World Record approximately ten times.

It was finished on the 9th of March 2010 in the Venetian which is at the heart of Macau’s Cotai Strip. It's a model of the world's largest hotel and he used more than 200,000 cards to make it. And it took 44 days to complete!

Unfortunately he is going to knock it down on the 19th of March 2010, but then he can build another one!
