3D TVs. Do we really want them?

3D is the next milestone for TV advancement in which games will become a totally immersive experience and TV will be even more exciting. LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio have already announced new 3D models and Sky have made all new Sky TV sets 3D ready and have a 3D channel Sky 3D.

And with Microsoft’s upcoming Project Natal, the addition of 3D could really make it seem like real life. Project Natal is an addition for the Xbox 360 which detects your motion and ‘Puts you into the game’ as it removes the need for a controller. If 3D was to come to this, this would be the second to last step in putting you into the game.

3D TV has been aired already. On February 1st, history was made when the 1st live 3D broadcast was aired of a football match between Arsenal and Manchester United.

But do we really want it? That is the question.

Currently, to watch 3DTV, you have to put on a pair of 3D glasses called active liquid crystal shutter glasses to enable the stereoscopic effect to work.

But do you really want to put on a pair of glasses every time you want to watch TV?

Here are your thoughts:
